On August Bank Holiday Monday this year the Lincolnshire Wolds Railway will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the first public train to run on its restored line between Ludborough and North Thoresby stations and to mark the occasion we are offering FREE TRAVEL on that day to anyone whose birthday is on 26th August. So come along and celebrate with us on Bank Holiday Monday – just bring along some proof of your birth date and claim your free ticket to ride!
These are exciting times for the LWR because we are now planning on bringing another five miles of the ELR back to life by rebuilding the line southwards from Ludborough to Louth and a fundraising appeal has been launched to purchase rail, sleepers and ballast for the new extension. Our first target is the ¾ miles to Pear Tree Lane crossing which will cost around £180,000. The appeal has started to build up a real momentum and has now topped the £50,000 mark, which is great news.
