Work commenced at the beginning of January to completely replace the track in the platform at Ludborough station and at the same time make improvements to the sub-base and drainage.

Starting with the removal of the old rails and sleepers, the track bed was then excavated, removing all the old ballast.

As our picture taken on 7th March shows, things have moved on at a fast pace, with the new panels now in position and the wooden sleepers having been replaced with the concrete type.

The Permanent Way Gang have now aligned and levelled the track, new ballast has been put in place and the work has been passed for running on 26th March.
